Portmarnock Golf Club

Portmarnock Golf Club is located in County Dublin. The course opened on St. Stephens day in 1894 with and started off with only 9 holes. It was then extended to eighteen holes in 1896. Portmarnock Golf Club has hosted some of the paramount tournaments in golf. Some of the tournaments that have been played on the course include the World Cup, the Irish Open, the Alcan International, the Walker Cup, the Amateur Championship and the St Andrews Trophy. Some of the greatest Professional and Amateur golfers have played on the course. Famous names such as Padraig Harrington to Arnold Palmer. The great Harry Vardon in recorded a record 69 over in an open competition in 1899 on a course measuring 5,810 yards. The course has been described by people as superb, great golf experience, easy to walk and one of the best links course to name a few. The course is also par 72.
